Glasgow University building opened officially in 1870. A gift from the Marquess of Bute and a legacy from the industrialist and former student Charles Randolph allowed the cloisters and great hall to be completed in 1882.

Description: Clyde Auditorium

The Clyde Auditorium was designed by Sir Norman Foster in 1997 as an extension to the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre complex. It is refered to locally as the "Armadillo" and serves as a 3,000 seater conference and concert venue.

Description: Odeon Brickwork

Photograph taken on West Nile St, Glasgow. Originally named the Glasgow Paramount and opened in December 1934, this cinema was part of a chain of British Paramounts and was designed by architects Frank T. Verity and Samuel Beverly.

Now closed and future uncertain.

The latest bridge to span the River Clyde finished in 2006. It features a central arch span and crosses the river at an angle between Broomielaw and the south side of the river.

The latest bridge to span the River Clyde finished in 2006. It accomodates four lanes for private and commercial traffic and pedestrian walkways and features a 96m arch span.

Description: The Waverley Steamer

Thought to be the last sea-going paddle steamer in the world, the 693 tonne Waverley was built in 1947.

The ship has undergone a major restoration in 2003 with grants provided by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Paddle Steamer Restoration Society.
